SMITH: ASTON VILLA WILL BE BETTER NEXT SEASON

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has assured the club’s fans that the club will become even better next season following their strong end to the season. At the beginning of the season, Villa were one of the best clubs and maintained their position in the top 2 places in the Premier League after a couple of fine performances that saw them produce some spectacular results during the opening few weeks of the current campaign. Their first match of the season saw them thump Liverpool 7-2 at home and it was a result that sent shock waves across the footballing world.

Their emphatic performance in that match was already tagged as one of the best performances and results of the season and it still rings in the head of the Aston Villa manager. However, as the season drew closer to an end, their form waned and they slowly moved downward in the table as they were unable to maintain the lethal form they started the season with.

One of the major reasons Villa were able to establish themselves as one of the best teams of the opening weeks of the season was due to the electric form of their captain and star midfielder, Jack Grealish. The England international midfielder is the club’s best player and they have suffered immensely when he has not played this season.

Grealish has been attracting a lot of interest from top clubs in the league, including Manchester United and their neighboring rivals Manchester City. However, Smith believes that even though the rumors will continue making the rounds about their star midfielder leaving Villa Park, they will do everything they can to keep him at the club and he will be starting next season with them.

The manager also added that since they now have Grealish back to fitness, and with the youngsters they currently have in the squad, they will be a better side next season.
